The Tidewater team has an extensive investment and project management track record in the real estate industry. The team has led acquisitions and dispositions as well as the development and asset management of projects across the country including residential, office, retail, hospitality, industrial, and debt investments. Tidewater’s projects have leveraged entitlement, vertical development, re-positioning, asset management, and leasing to add value across market cycles.
Craig Young is the Founder and Managing Principal of Tidewater Capital. Mr. Young oversees Tidewater's investment, development, asset management, and organizational activities. Over the past two years, Mr. Young has grown the firm's portfolio by investing in entitlement, vertical development, and existing projects across a range of product types including market rate, affordable, and rent-controlled housing, as well as office, retail, and self storage assets. Mr. Young also spearheaded the development of The Hall, a local food venue that has been featured in the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, and the San Francisco Chronicle.
Prior to founding Tidewater, Mr. Young managed the office-investing platform for The JBG Companies in Washington, DC. His previous work experience includes roles at the CIM Group in Los Angeles, the Ballast Point Group in Florida, and Deutsche Bank in New York City. Through his career Mr. Young has gained significant real estate investment and development experience across a broad range of geographies and asset classes.
Mr. Young is actively involved in various philanthropic efforts aimed at promoting financial literacy, civic education, and entrepreneurial training for youth in under-served local neighborhoods. He is also on the Advisory Board of Urban Solutions, a nonprofit focused on supporting small businesses. In 2014, Mr. Young received the Golden Brick Award, a recognition presented annually to an individual who has made an outstanding impact in their community. In 2015, Mr. Young was recognized as one of the San Francisco Business Times’ 40 Under 40 honorees.
Raised in Central Florida and with deep family roots in Northern California, Mr. Young enjoys spending his free time outdoors. Mr. Young received his Bachelor of Arts from Brown University and his MBA from Harvard Business School.
Ross Stackhouse
Vice President
Ross Stackhouse is Vice President at Tidewater Capital. His primary responsibilities include managing the firm's investments platform and acting as the lead project manager for several of the company's operating assets and development projects. Mr. Stackhouse also directs the firm's portfolio and investment strategy as well as many of its philanthropic and community engagement activities.
Before joining Tidewater, Mr. Stackhouse worked for The JBG Companies in Washington, D.C., where he led a variety of residential, office, hotel, and retail investments including the management of new acquisitions and support of numerous development and asset management projects. Mr. Stackhouse also oversaw the firm's market research platform during his time at JBG.
Mr. Stackhouse sits on the Board of Directors of the Tenderloin Community Benefits District and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute, SPUR, and the United States Green Building Council. He is a LEED Accredited Professional with a specialty in Building Design and Construction.
A native of lower Manhattan in New York City, Mr. Stackhouse holds a Bachelor of the Arts with Honors in Environmental Studies from Brown University. He is passionate about sustainable development, and the creation of vibrant urban environments.
Matt Klimerman
Associate
Matt Klimerman is an Associate at Tidewater Capital. His primary responsibilities include investment analysis, portfolio analysis, market research, pipeline development, and acting as project manager for several of the company’s operating assets and development projects.
Before joining Tidewater, Mr. Klimerman worked for The JBG Companies in Washington, D.C. He worked on a variety of residential, office, retail, hotel, townhome, and debt investments, including the management of numerous new acquisitions and dispositions. Mr. Klimerman was also an active board member of JBG’s philanthropy and public art committees. His previous work experience includes roles at the CIM Group in Los Angeles, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, and the New York City Mayor’s Office.
A native of Manhattan in New York City, Mr. Klimerman holds a Bachelor of the Arts from Brown University.
